Tan Jai Fixed Account (with Passbook)

Details
The Tan Jai Fixed Account, with a deposit period of 12 months, offers high interest and pays interest immediately on the deposit date. The interest can be withdrawn and used right away, without having to wait until the maturity date.
Benefits and Highlights
- The interest is immediately paid on the deposit date (in case of cash deposit).
Terms of Service
- For individual depositors only (joint accounts, including accounts with “and” or “or”, are not accepted).
- The minimum amount required to open an account or renew the deposit upon maturity is 100,000 Baht, with a maximum limit of 1,500,000 Baht.
- Interest is paid immediately upon cash deposit on the account opening date or renew. A 15% withholding tax will be deducted from the interest received, in accordance with Revenue Department guidelines. (For cheque deposits, interest will be paid upon cheque clearance.)
- As for the interest, if no withdrawal or additional deposit is made after the account opening date or after renewal upon maturity, the interest will be treated as a deposit exceeding the initial account opening amount or the amount renewed upon maturity. Interest will be calculated at the savings deposit rate, with withholding tax applied (starting from the first Baht).
- Depositors can withdraw the entire surplus deposit amount but cannot withdraw any portion of the principal that earns interest on the deposit date (the initial principal at account opening or upon renewal at maturity). If a partial withdrawal reduces the principal below the account opening amount or the renewed deposit amount at maturity, the account must be closed.
- In the event of a withdrawal of principal, account closure before the maturity of the deposit period, or failure to comply with the terms and conditions of the Tan Jai Fixed Account, the Bank will pay interest at the savings deposit rate announced by the Bank on the date the terms and conditions are breached (after withholding tax) based on the deposit period. For any excess interest paid by the Bank (including withholding tax), the Bank will deduct the amount from the principal deposited. (The depositor can request a refund of the withholding tax from the Revenue Department by themselves)
- When the deposit period matures, clients must notify the Bank of their intention to either renew the deposit as a Tan Jai Fixed Account or transfer the deposit to another type of deposit account. Depositors must contact the branch where the account was opened within 1 month from the maturity date to express their decision. Interest will be calculated daily on the remaining balance in the account, based on the interest rate announced at that time. Interest will be paid on the day the depositor contacts the branch to notify their intention or on the day after the 1-month period following the maturity date. Withholding tax will be applied to the interest earned (from the first Baht).
- For a Tan Jai Fixed Account, if the depositor does not contact the branch where the account was opened within one month from the maturity date, the deposit will be automatically transferred in full to a savings account, with interest rates as announced by the Bank.
