A deposit account with no minimum deposit for account opening or required deposit amount, offering high flexibility in daily deposits and withdrawals, with no limits on frequency or amounts. Convenient withdrawals are available via ATM cards, providing easy access to basic financial services for state welfare card holders or individuals aged 65 years or older on the account opening date.

  • Convenient for deposits, withdrawals, and transfers at every branch on all working days. Transaction fees (if applicable) are subject to the Bank's announcement.
  • It can be used as an account to receive transfers or to be linked for transferring to other types of accounts.
  • Withdrawals can be made conveniently and flexibly using an ATM card, free of charge and with unlimited transactions at over 6,000 ATMs of Thai Credit Bank and Krungthai Bank (free of charge only within the same area).

Terms of Service

  • This account is available only to Thai individual clients who are entitled to benefits under the state welfare card and hold a valid state welfare card, or to those aged 65 years and older on the account opening date.
  • Each depositor can open only one account (joint accounts with (and/or/for/by) are not accepted).
  • No deposit account maintenance fee is charged until the Basic Banking Account is converted to the Bank's general savings account (individual depositor type, with the lowest interest rate).
  • No account closing fee is charged within one month from the account opening date.
  • Clients can use the PromptPay account linking service with a transaction fee (if applicable), as per the Bank's announcement.
  • In the case of applying for an ATM card to use with a Basic Banking Account, the privileges apply in exempting from the following fees:
    • Entry Fee.
    • Annual Fee.
    • Fee for new card issuance in case of expired card.
    • It is entitled to link an ATM card only to a Basic Banking Account, and one card can be linked to only one account.
       

Interest Payment

  • Interest is calculated daily and paid twice a year (on the 25th of June and December; interest can be withdrawn the next day).
  • Interest received that is exempt from tax on deposit interest is based on savings deposits, according to the conditions set by the Revenue Department.
  • Savings deposit interest rates are in line with the Bank's interest rate announcement.

Conversion to a General Savings Account

The Bank reserves the right to convert the status of the Basic Banking Account to the Bank's general savings account (lowest interest rate savings, individual depositor type) by providing at least 30 days' prior notice. If the depositor does not respond regarding the account transaction, the Bank will automatically apply the conditions of the general savings account (lowest interest rate savings, individual depositor type) if any of the following conditions are met:

  1. No transactions or account activity for more than 24 consecutive months.
  2. The account owner no longer meets the eligibility requirements for a Basic Banking Account.

  • Thai individuals who hold a valid state welfare card and provide supporting documents for account opening, including presenting a physical national ID card and the valid state welfare card.
  • Thai individuals aged 65 years and older on the account opening date, who provide supporting documents for account opening, including a physical national ID card.
     

Remarks :

  1. Closing an account: Accounts can only be closed in person at the branch where the account was opened.
  2. The Bank reserves the right to amend the conditions in accordance with its announcements.
  3. Deposit interest rates, fees, and other services are subject to the Bank's announcements.
  4. The deposit is protected by the Deposit Protection Agency, up to the amount specified by law.

FAQ

Type of Basic Banking Account is similar to general savings account. Customers can use various services, deposits-withdrawals-transfers-bill payments including other services related to daily life as usual.

If the total interest received from all savings accounts across all banks does not exceed 20,000 Baht per year, it will be exempt from a 15% tax. However, if the interest exceeds 20,000 Baht per year, it will be subject to a 15% tax.

You can request withholding tax information from deposit interest or a withholding tax certificate in person at the branch where the account was opened (authorization is not allowed).

  • Notify 1 day in advance before 3:30 PM.

  • The branch where the account was opened has no withdrawal limit.
  • If other branches, the daily limits per account are: cash withdrawals not exceed 1,000,000 Baht and transfers not exceed 2,000,000 Baht.

Withdrawal by proxy can only be proceeded at the branch where the account was opened.

Change of personal information should be proceeded in person, authorization is not allowed.

  • Change of Name -Surname; You can request to change your information in person at the branch where the account was opened.

  • For other cases, such as phone number, address, or email address, you can request to change your information in person at any branch.

There are no account maintenance fees until the Basic Banking Account is reclassified as a general savings account of the bank (lowest interest rate savings account for individual depositors).

The account holder must contact the branch where the account was opened in person. (Authorization is not allowed.)
