Thai Credit Bank PCL reinforces its commitment to being a bank for society by running the financial literacy promotion project "Tang To Know-how" for the 8th consecutive year. The project aims to build essential financial knowledge and skills for small entrepreneurs, small business owners, company employees, youth, and government officers by helping to lay a foundation for economic stability and sustainably improving the quality of life. During the first quarter of 2024 (January - April), there were18,428 people participating in the training, an increase of up to 20% compared to 15,379 participants of the same period last year.

Mr. Roy Agustinus Gunara, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Credit Bank, stated, "Promoting financial literacy is at the heart of Thai Credit Bank. Beyond providing funding, we recognize the importance of comprehensive knowledge management, which will lead to the reduction in inequality and sustainable development, aligning with our mission to truly being a bank for society."

For more than 7 years, Thai Credit Bank has been seriously and continuously committed to the "Tang To Know-how" financial literacy promotion project. A total of 3,569 training batches were conducted through various channels, including 267 bank lending branches converted into learning centers nationwide, online training and social media as well as direct outreach to target groups. A total of 195,003 people nationwide have received training courses which are comprehensive and catered to all target groups, ranging from business financial management for small entrepreneurs, personal finance management for employees and government officers, to instilling saving habits in youth. All the training courses provided to participants were free of charges.

In 2024, the bank aims to increase the number of trainees to 60,000 and expand the project's scope to cover more on vulnerable groups. Most recently, a special course for the elderly was organized to enhance financial management skills and raise awareness of financial risks in retirement age. The bank also conveys financial knowledge to empower women empowerment groups, leading to economic equality.

The bank's commitment to enhancing financial literacy and improving the quality of life for Thais is also reflected through the 1st runner-up award for "National Leader in Rural Development and Poverty Eradication 2023, Private Sector Category" from the Ministry of Interior, awarded to the "Tang To Know-how" project. This project is driven by consideration on environmental, social, and governance factors which has created positive changes for communities and the quality of life of community members.

The latest training results found that over 70% of trainees have their financial knowledge enhanced, 89% of their financial discipline improved, and 66% of entrepreneurs see sales growth within just one year after training. This marks the project's success in strengthening financial resilience and driving sustainable growth in Thailand's grassroots economy.

"Building strengths from within, through financial literacy and vocational skill development, will lead to sustainable development. The 'Tang To Know-how' project will be a mechanism to create economic immunity for communities, driving opportunities and improving the quality of life for all Thai people, consistent with our philosophy 'Everyone Matters,'" Mr. Roy concluded.
